Precaution in charging Duracell Batteries
As stated in the user manual and instruction, Duracell batteries have to be fully discharged and charged for every 2 to 3 weeks in order to deliver the best performance of the battery. Failure to discharge or charging fully the batteries will result the lifespan of the batteries shorten.
It is pretty simple to discharge a battery, just put in the battery in any device and switch on the device to let it running on the battery’s power non-stop until the device shut down by itself or the battery gives a low battery level warning. At this point of time, you can safely recharge the battery accordingly.

When buying a new rechargeable battery, by default it will be in the discharged mode. This new fresh cell need to be full charged for the first time which takes about 10 – 15 minutes. It is necessary to follow the instruction given in the manual when charging the battery. Some of the common sense but easy to forget rules, such as placing the positive to a positive points of the battery charger.
Tips on using and taking care of battery
1. Rules no. 1, use the correct size and type of battery as specified by the manufacturer of your device. Many times people do not follow and the battery company do not guarantee any would happen.
2. Store the battery in dry places, it is important to keep the contact surface of the battery dry and clean by rubbing them with a clean pencil eraser or a rough cloth every time you replace the batteries.
3. Match the terminals correctly, make sure you know how to read the signs, (+) and (-), e.g. positive match with positive and vice versa. Some uses 3 batteries may still work properly even if one is placed incorrectly.
4. When the batteries are not in use, store them in a dry place at normal room temperature. I think nobody should fridge the batteries because it will not make them last longer.
5. Look at the expiry date of the battery before buying. Most Duracell batteries have a shelf life of 5 years storage if it is not use before.
6. Exposing the battery in high extreme temperature may reduce the battery performance. Try not to put the battery-operated device under the Sun or near a hot places.
