A battery charger is not only limited to charge one type of AA size batteries, some are design to charge different sizes and shapes of rechargeable batteries. The most common types are AA, AAA, D and 9V batteries. Batteries are in cylinder shape except the last one 9V is the square cube one which has the highest voltage among all the batteries.

Choosing a multiply size battery charger bank which provide the flexibility and versatility of recharging battery. It is rather worth for money to invest in a multiple banks charger as the concept of buy one charges many cells goes.

As mentioned before, the AA battery charger is meant for rechargeable batteries, but do not ever try it on the alkaline cells as the alkaline cell is not designed for rechargeable, it is mean for one or 2 uses. Be extra careful if any attempt to recharging the alkaline battery, it may catch fire unnecessary.

Battery charger also comes in variety types, some are daily charger, overnight charger, the most common and popular one is the quick charger. All of them is powered by either wall supply, solar power or even the USB port.

Tips of keeping the power of the rechargeable batteries:

- To prolong the rechargeable battery life, it is recommended to put them in the refrigerator or freezer. Before doing so, make sure you put the batteries in a plastic bag and seal it up before putting into the freezer to prevent any moisture penetrate into the battery itself.

- Storing the battery in a low temperature storage when it is not in use will make the composition of chemical inside the battery more stable.

- When ever to reuse the battery, do not straight away take it out from the fridge and put in to any device. When the battery is cold condition, the output of the current might not reaching its full voltage as it is not in full capacity.

- Do take the battery out from the fridge and keep them warm up so that the temperature of the battery is same as the room temperature. Then the battery will perform exactly the same as the new one.

- Some even worry that putting the batteries in the freezer may not cold enough, but take them out and place them into the ice box. It does not make any difference as the temperature is lower than the room temperature will extend the battery’s life when they are not is use.

- Last tip when using a battery charger, do not mix up the partial and empty charge battery and charge them on the same charger. This is to avoid over charge or uneven distribution of current passing through them which makes the battery may not run on the optimum level.
